Sustainable Inputs

Sustainable Fabrics like organic cotton, bamboo, and soy provide an ecologically and ethically conscientious alternative to conventional cotton. Many conventionally grown fabrics use chemicals that can cause harm to the farmers or animals involved in the growing.

organic wool

Wool is renewable and sustainable since sheep grow it yearly. Organic wool means that pesticides are not applied to the SHEEP. Sheep 'dipping' in pesticides is common in conventional sheep farming. Those pesticides are somewhat toxic to humans. A mature sheep weighs around 150 pounds, and is probably affected by the pesticides. Conventionally grown sheep are also given drugs to prevent internal parasitic worms. Organic wool is from sheep grazed on pesticide free lands, and the fabric is not chemically treated during processing. organic trade association

organic Cotton

Conventionally grown cotton accounts for more than 25% of worldwide insecticide use and 10% of the pesticides. Pesticides used on cotton are among the most hazardous. Buying organic cotton clothing means that farm workers are not exposed to the pesticides. organic trade association
