only the most vivid one I’ve ever seen. this photo is completely untouched. the doubled underside of the rainbow was real, not some camera artifact.

my mom brought flowers to decorate the window.
i’ve been caught up with spring 2010 (2010! it sounds so futuristic!) designs. i think the collection will be called belladonna- or deadly nightshade.
but we’ve got sunflowers today.

decided to drive up Mt. Washington today. I’d love to hike it, but I’m unnecessarily fearful of wild animals. like bears.
When camping in the desert last month, I’d wake up in the middle of the night convinced I was hearing them around the tent. mountain lions and javalinas and bears oh my.
So just a couple miles into the drive, an approaching car flags me down and the driver tells me tersely that there is a bear up ahead.
I stop driving, put the convertible top up, and hesitantly proceed.
black bears are supposed to be afraid of humans, but this one was just hanging out on the side of the road while cars passed it, chewing on some grass.

they were practically tame, though apparently they will attack red painted toenails (which I did not have.)

when it’s below zero in the mornings the ocean sends off clouds.

ok, this lovely creature lives on a really nice web right outside the studio window. strangely, you can’t see the web in the photo, but it’s really symmetrical.
the spider was the size of my thumb.
